I'm in denial about the heap of work that needs to be done. Boxes are scattered everywhere and I am avoiding it all. My lack of motivation is indeed a result of having had most of the summer cut short by the task of moving. I am now making every effort to enjoy a bit of the season that is left by spending it outdoors with the kids.
I keep telling myself that I have lots of time to unpack and bring order to the inside when the snow is here again. Is this reasonable logic? Hmm, time will tell.
All that aside I am loving our backyard full of it's nature goodness. Everyday we are drawn outdoors to collect, explore and watch the world living beyond our walls.
We spent some time outside gathering fallen sticks, pine cones, pine
needles and other things of nature to make shelters for our backyard
fairies. It's been so windy the past few days and we were concerned
about the general well being of these little creatures.
We still haven't been fortunate enough to see any fairies prancing about but I suppose that is because most are intrinsically shy and nervous to be seen. The kids accept this and have the idea that fairies are probably most like our fireflies.
Perhaps I'll be able to catch a glimpse of a few fairies along the way and convince them to come help me unpack!
I need a little magic like that to help get my home in order. Happy Monday!
So great that you talk about fairies with your kids too. We definitely believe in fairies at our house, even the grown-ups. We've talked about building them some little spaces outside, but it hasn't happened yet.
