Canada plays host to the 2010 Winter Olympics, makes me wish I lived closer to the west coast. Having played sports my whole life, watching live is far more entertaining then the tube.
But given the distance I'll have to make an exception for a few events, starting tonight, with the opening ceremonies. Go Canada!
PS, stay tuned for some news and a giveaway this weekend...xxx
Last week I had the opportunity to contribute to the craft hope cause. The devastation that Haiti has experienced is mind boggling. I'm a simple prairie girl who doesn't live in an earth quake zone so I can't begin to imagine the feeling of helplessness as you wait for relief to come and dig you, or your loved ones out, or to feed you, or care for you, or to just sit with you. I'm sure there isn't ever enough help in such situations. But we do what we can in our own little way.
I donated a few items, two of which sold quickly and one that is still available in the shop. If you haven't had a chance to contribute to the Haiti relief, there is still time to get on board either with a purchase of handmade goodies, or a donation - all proceeds benefit Doctor's Without Borders. Visit craft hope for more details and let's not forget Haiti.
Oh SIGG, oh SIGG...not you too!
I stumbled upon this letter, I'm sure many of you have read it by now. It's new news to me and worth while sharing with you my faithful peeps.
Monday I'll be calling the local store that I purchased them from to see if they will do a voluntary exchange, but if not I'm mailing all 5 bottles out for replacements. Should you choose to do the same the deadline is set for October 31, 2009 and SIGG is not picking up the tab for shipping. I think Canada Post is going to love this recall.
Congratulations! I am so happy for the journey that you will embark upon over the next 4 years. I'm also decidedly jealous that your politics are so much more exciting and entertaining than my Canadian politics. I listened to President-elect Obama's speech on 'win' night and was really hopeful for the first time in years that America could become great once again, in the very least respected by those beyond her borders. I wish you all the best as you settle into this new historical administration.
